Please Note: The content created inside of each THiNC Publication is created by other individuals other than THiNC. THiNCBook Projects is the default avatar as the creator of almost all version of publications. To find the actual author you may either access it by two ways:

1. Take the book out of your inventory and it will tell you whom published it.
2. Select the menu button in the lower left corner when the book is opened and select “INFO”.

THiNC Publications are books that can be made by any individuals in Second Life. They are produced using a book publishing system created by THiNC. There are two ways that the Publication can be read

Standard Mode (Everyone Can See):

1. Rez the publication.
2. Touch the outer cover to open the publication.
3. Touch the pages to advance.
4. When you are done, touch the cover to close.

HUD Mode (Only The Owner Can See):

1. Find the book in your inventory.
2. Right click and select wear.
3. Touch the outer cover to open the publication.
4. Touch the pages to advance.
5. When you are done, touch the cover to close. Right click the book and select detach.

Publication Menu can be accessed either in Standard or HUD Mode. You can access it when the book is opened, there will be a menu tab located in the lower left corner of the book. Touch it for the menu:

• HIDE(HUD Mode)- This will move/hide the book away from your main screen. Touch the book again to unhide the book.

• PAGE ADV - Menu option that will allow you to advance or go back pages in increments of 1, 5, 10, & 25. There is also the option to go to the begining or end of book or even close the book.

• HELP - Direct you to the THiNC Help website, this page.

• LANDMARK(Optional) - If there is one you may select this for a landmark the author intended to give you.

• NOTE(Optional) - If there is one you may select this for a notecard the author intended to give you.

• WEBSITE(Optional) - If there is one you may select this for a website the author intended you to visit.

• INFO - Get information about the book such as author, when it was published and id number.

• SIZE(Standard Mode & HUD Mode) - Resize the book (1 - 100). 0 is the default size. Note: there are two different sizes one for HUD and the other for when the book is out in world.

• OPTIONS - Additional menu that give you the options: HUD POS, SIZE, FULL BRIGHT, & SOUND
  • RESET - Reset all user set values. This includes Sizes, HUD Position, Sound toggle, and Full Bright Toggle.
  • HUD POS(HUD Mode) - Allows you to reposition the book's location when it hides. Adjust the position using the arrows. Select FINE, MED, and LARGE for how far each arrow click moves. If you would like to save make sure you click SAVE otherwise click CANCEL.
  • FULL BRIGHT - Change the pages of the book to toggle off and on Full Bright.
  • SOUND - Change the book to toggle sound off and on.
